Astronauts may need to fight bone loss

A high-impact exercise could help limit bone loss while in space.

When astronauts spend extended periods in space may surprising and sometimes harmful changes can occur in their bodies.

Only one of the astronauts in the study saw bone density return to normal after an extended time on earth.

The researcher also notes that those who were in space longer suffered a greater drop in bone strength.

One such health concern is a loss in bone density and bone strength due to the effects of microgravity.

According to NASA, the space station can make 16 orbits around the earth over 24 hours.

The space station can travel up to a speed of 5 miles per second.
