In India, the Solar Eclipse (Surya Grahan) has a religious significance. It is considered the unlucky period to begin with a holy activity.
Avoid staring straight at the Sun with naked eyes. Avoid wearing ordinary sunglasses with very dark lenses.
To see the Solar eclipse, use specialized solar eclipse glasses or a handheld solar viewer.
Don't use eclipse glasses or handheld viewers with cameras, binoculars, or telescopes. Those require different types of solar filters
Don't remove the viewers until you've turned or looked away from the sun. Use a non-damaged viewer to see the Solar eclipse.
