Microsoft Bought Activision Blizzard For $69 Billion

According to the BBC, Microsoft announced the biggest gaming deal in early 2022, but the $69 billion acquisition was blocked in April by Britain's competition regulator.

The biggest-ever acquisition in the video game industry completed its $69 billion purchase of Activision Blizzard Inc. after the fight of two years.

The UK’s Competition and Markets Authority announced on Friday that it had approved the deal and completed the acquisition.

Microsoft is paying cash for Activision at a premium price of $95 per share. Microsoft said that it will transfer cloud gaming rights for current and new Activation Blizzard games.

Microsoft has agreed to transfer the rights to stream Activision games from the cloud to Ubisoft for 15 years outside the European Economic Area (EEA).

Mr Smith said Microsoft was "grateful for the CMA's thorough review and decision".
