QNAP detected new DeadBolt ransomware to target QNAP NAS devices operating Photo Station on the morning of September 3, 2022
QNAP affects the Photo Station application which is used to manage and share the photos stored on QNAP NAS devices.
QNAP Product Security Incident Response Team said to the users to remove their QNAP NAS from the internet.
NAS devices are used by consumers and small businesses to share and manage files and for taking backups.
The ransomware targeting variants are: Checkmate, Each0raix, QSnath, and the AgeLocker
Users could protect the files by paying the ransom and getting an active decryption key or by simply uninstalling them.
