The European Space Agency (ESA) astronaut launched to the ISS to lead the US orbital segment.

Cristoforetti will officially take on the role of the commander during an ISS ceremony.

The Tik-Tok famous astronaut first traveled and spent 199 days on the ISS. The record was broken by Peggy Whitson and Christiana Koch.

Christoforetti shared her first Tik-Tok video on 5th May while floating in microgravity.

Christoforreti was working 12-hour shifts and during the work time, she was not able to make viral videos.

"Samantha's wealth and knowledge make her an excellent candidate for the role", David Parker ESA's director of Human And Robotic Exploration, said.
